IBPS - Logical Reasoning Series 7

In making decisions about important questions, it is desirable to be able to distinguish between “strong” arguments and “weak” arguments. “Strong” arguments must be both important and directly related to the question. “Weak” arguments may not be directly related to the, question and may be of minor importance or may be related to the trivial aspects of the question.
Each question below is followed by three arguments numbered I, II and III. You have to decide which is the argument(s) is/are “strong” and indicate your answer accordingly.

Q.1) Arguments :
I.

III.  No, the Govt. does not have the machinery to put such a restriction on use of electricity.
1) Only I is strong
2) Only II is strong
3) Only I and II are strong
4) Only II and III are strong
5) All I, II and III are strong
Correct Ans:
3

Solution:

Some problems of unsufficient production of electricity should be solved to save the electricity. Hence argument I is strong . Argument II is also strong because every citizen pay electricity bill how much he consume. It is assumed that government has no right to control the use of electricity. Hence argument III is not strong.

III.  Yes, young persons are more prone to get affected by the viral infection and hence they should remain in doors.
1) None is strong
2) Only I is strong
3) Only III is strong
4) Only I and II are strong
5) All I, II and III are strong
Correct Ans:
2

Solution:
Only argument I is strong because closure of educational institution alone is not the solution for curbing spread of viral infaction.

Q.3) Arguments :

1) Only I and II are strong
2) Only II and III are strong
3) Only I and III are strong
4) All I, II and III are strong
5) None Of these
Correct Ans:
5

Solution:
Argument III is probably strong. Word any other way used in argument I made it invalid

Q.4) Arguments :
I.
Yes, this is the only way to spring in Uniformity in the education system in the country.

1) None is strong
2) Only I is strong
3) Only II is strong
4) Only I and II are strong
5) Only II and III are strong
Correct Ans:
5

Solution:
Word ‘only’ made argument I invalid while argument II and III are strong.

Q.5)Arguments :
I.
Yes, this will help the students to complete their education without a break of  year.
II.   Yes, this is a forward looking strategy to help the students and motivate them for higher studies.
III.  No, such students do not choose to continue their studies without having passed in all the subjects in HSC.
1) Only I is strong
2) Only II is strong
3) Only III is strong
4) Only either II or III and I are strong
5) None Of these
Correct Ans:
5

Solution:
Only argument I is strong. The time of students are remain from this. Argument (II) is also strong because it is helpful to students to go is next class which inspires for higher education.
