BIJOY


Former Union Minister and 6 time lok sabha member BIJOY KRISHNA HANDQUE passed away in JORHAL ASSAM. He was 82.


He was the veteran leader of Indian national congress from the northest state of assam. Bijoy was the senior politician from Assam and was elected to LOK SABHA from JORHAT for 6 consecutive terms from 1991.


DEENDAYAL UPADHYAYA GRAM JYOTI YOJANA IN PATNA


PM MODI launched the DEEN DAYAL UPADHYAYA GRAM JYOTI YOJANA for power sector reforms in rural areas with a view to ensuring round the clock electricity supply to farmers and rural households.


The scheme has an outlay of RS 76,000 crore for implementation of the projects under which the CENTRAL shall provide grant RS 63000 CRORE. A total of Rs 14680 crore worth projects have already been approved out of which projects amounting RS 5827 CRORE have been approved for BIHAR STATE.


INDO-BANGLA RAIL


Union Govt sanctioned 1000 crore rupees for laying of 15.06km long tracks to connect Indian Railway with Bangladesh through the NORTH EAST.


The Indo-BANGLA Rail link would be completed by 2017 and the entire route will be constructed by IRCON.


The completion of the project would reduce the distance from Agartala to Kolakata from 1650 to 515 km and difficult hilly terrain could be avoided.
