Last Six Month Updates For IBPS Part 1

1) The Govt. has introduced a central victim Compensation Fund(CVCF) scheme with an initial corpus of RS.200 crore to enable support to victims of rape, acid attacks, human trafficking and women killed or injured in the cross border firing. This compensation amount will rise of the victim is less than 14 years of age for ACID ATTACKS AND RAPEs.


2)Civil Aviation Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju inaugurated the International Civil Helicopters conclave 2015 in New Delhi called upon all stockholder to come up with new ideas to give a boost to the civil aviation sector in particular.


3)Government imposed stock limit on pulses across the cross-section of pulses traders in a desperate attempt to deal with spiraling prices and check hoarding of the commodity. Now all the importers ,exporters , licensed food processors and large departmental retailers will also have to follow the stock-limit rules.
Government has also advised all states to stringently check any kind of black marketing by traders. Looking at the mismatch between the demand and supply of pulses in the country and rising prices, govt. has announced that the govt. will purchase 30K tones of tur and 10K tones of urad through the national agricultural cooperative marketing federation of India.


4) Union Govt. appointed former supreme court judge justice Balbir singh chauhan as the chairperson of the 21st law commission. He was a judge of the supreme court from may 2009 to July 2014. Earlier from July 2008 to May 2009, he served as the chief justice of Orissa high court.


5)The government has named Atanu chalraborty, MD of Gujarat state petroleum corp. as the director general of directorate general of HYDROCARBOM (DGH). DGH is the oil ministry’s technical advisory arm for exploration programmes of private and public sector companies. A 1985 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, Chakraborty’s appointment comes after several month of search by the ministry for suitable candidate to fill the post which fell vacant after B N TALUKDAR retired on July.


6) Indian- American politician from IOWA nominated as Executive Director to Asian Development Bank with ambassadorial rank by US president BARACK OBAMA. The first ever Indian-American to be elected to IOWAS House of Representatives in 2003, Dandekar 64 would replace Robert M Orr, who has held the position since 2010. Dandekar was the first Indian corn American citizen to win a state legislature seat in the united states.


7)Atul Sobti – who has been working as a board director in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) was appointed as the chairman and MD of the company. As a director MR ATUL SOBTI was heading the crucial portfolios of power and finance in the india’s largest public sector engineering and manufacturing enterprise. Also Sobti has been the chairman of Raichur Power corporation limited a joint venture company of BHEL and Karnataka Power Corporation Limited.


8)Alice Vaiyan has been appointed as the chairman and MD of the General Insurance corporation of india. She would hold the office till July 31 2019. She is the first woman to be appointed in such post not only in the GIC Re, but the first Indian Insurance sector. The GIC RE is the 14th largest reinsurance company in india. Vaidhuan belongs to 1983 batch of the direct recruit officers of general insurance industry and has been the general manager and chief financial officer of the GIC RE from October 2012.
