The supreme court collegiums have recommended elevation of 4 judges as chief justices of various high courts. The 4 high courts of Meghalaya, Gauhati, Rajasthan , Karnataka for which new chief justices have been recommended are currently being looked after by acting chief justice. The incumbent in Chennai justice S K KAUL has been recommended to be the next chief justice of the Allahabad high court in UP And Delhi HC chief Justice G ROHINI has been recommended for a transfer to the Madras high court.

The union ministry of Agriculture and farmers welfare decided to set up the National Organic Farming Research Institute in Sikkim. The govt. extended its flagship program BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO initially launched in 100 districts to 61 more districts across 11 states.
