Indian govt. digitally connect all post office in rural areas by March 2017. The Indian govt. will invest Rs 69757 crore towards increasing india’s quota in the international monetary fund that will provide increased voting rights at the multilateral funding agency. Russia, china, brazil and india are for first time among the 10 largest members of IMF. Presently india has voting rights of 2.34 % at the IMf, which has 188 members. In terms of quota india has a share of 2.44%. Under the quota reform more than 6% of quota shares would shift to dynamic emerging markets and developing countries. It would also mark the shift in shares from over-represented to under –represented IMF members.
Uridashi Masala Bond
International Finance Corporation launched its first Uridashi Masala Bond to mobilize Rs 30 crore from Japanese retail investor. The proceeds will be used for promoting private sector development in india. The bond will be settled in yen and each bond id denominated at Rs. 1,00,000, the bond will be issued on March 30 2016 and mature on March 29 2019.
